Arnhem

I made it here safe and sound. The flight to Amsterdam was uneventful and on time. The train ride to Arnhem was easy and scenic; the landscape of the Netherlands is quite pretty: lots of farms, corn fields, cows and, of course, windmills. Curator Inge Pollet of PlaatsMaken picked me up at the Centraal station and then I met the rest of the staff at PlaatsMaken. Everyone has been very kind to me. I will be mostly working with Mars Wellink in the screenprinting studio, so I am very excited about making new work!

I will be living in an apartment not too far away from PlaatsMaken. In order to get my luggage to the apartment, they hired a bicycle taxi; Inge and I cycled alongside the taxi cyclist and my luggage! I wish we had bicycle taxis in Vancouver. Anyways, I am going to rest tonight, get my bearings and hopefully make some art tomorrow.
