fin de la semana

Kind of quiet here. I don’t have too much to say except that the screen-printing part of the book is now done. It was a lot different than screening at PlaatsMaken because I was not using a one-arm screen-printing table. I was frustrated at first because the printing was inconsistent and variable. However, after getting used to my upper body pressure, the prints seem to be fine. Next to do is the printing of the text on photopolymer plates. By the way, my supplies have not arrived yet. Note to self: don’t mail supplies in the future.

The other artists are nice; however, everyone seems very focused on their work and generally keep to themselves. Last year, it was pretty sociable, we often ate dinner together or unwound  after the long work day. It’s a big difference for sure. Anyway, tonight will be our first “social”. Fellow artist, Laura Berman, suggested that we have a potluck dinner tonight! Laura is print faculty at Kansas City Art Institute. I love her prints! She is printing monoprints using laser cut paper plates. How cool is that?

I don’t have too much exciting to say except here are some photos of the serigraphy studio (double igloo), my prints, and Laura hard at work.
