Graphics in the South

Nope, I am not attending this year’s Southern Graphics conference (I do hope to one day), but rather I just returned from a short vacation of Nashville, TN, and New Orleans, LA.

I managed to get a mini tour of the legendary Hatch Show Print. Hatch Show Print is America’s oldest working letterpress poster print shop. It was wonderful to see a busy print shop amongst all the honky tonks. Hatch prints posters for the Ryman Theatre (formerly the Grand Ole Opry), Vanderbilt University, Converse shoes, and musicians. I enjoyed seeing the old blocks and prints of Hank Williams and Elvis Presley. This place is amazing and inspiring!
