Kabouterdag

On Sundays, the studio is closed, so it’s a chance to unwind and rethink the upcoming final work week. Today was Kabouterdag and open house at the nearby windmill, Keeses Molen. I had the opportunity to knead some bread dough destined for the brick oven and bought some homemade speculoos, ginger-spiced Belgian cookies.

The land around the mill is so darling just like the speculoos.

After that, studio mate, Laura, her husband Chris and baby Jovi invited me to join them for Kabouterdag, a festival for children. It was super adorable; they were telling stories in the forest and little children were dressed up as gnomes. Us, adults wanted to be gnomes too! The people selling tickets told us that the gnome hats were only for babies, but we asked nicely and scored some cool hats.
