Tot ziens!

I think this will be my final entry to this blog. It has been a challenging week with the printing problems and all. Basically, the press bed is not level, so the printing was very inconsistent. Ivan an Wim at FMC spent 3 hours trying to level the press bed on Monday. It started printing pretty decent, so I plugged away at printing the polymer plates; however, the text does not look very embossed on the paper. At that point, I had to soldier on and finish the book for the archive submission.

A couple of days ago, I received a surprise email from Marie-Alice. She is a South African artist who I met last year here at FMC. Marie-Alice is now an art teacher and she came over from Ghent to visit me for the day! It was great fun having a friend over. I went to the legumes markt and got some local vegetables; we had pompoen soup and salad for dinner. To make things even better, the sun decided to come out. Woohoo!

The next day, we walked around the farmlands of Kasterlee and wandered through the corn fields. It was a fun day, indeed. Now I am just packing and cleaning. I am really looking forward to being home soon! Tot ziens!
